Question for the Canterbury Tales essay:

In The Canterbury Tales, how does Chaucer satirize the Church within the Pardoners tale.

Thesis:

In the Pardoner's tale, Chaucer satirizes the Church by showing the corruption of the Church through the ideas of lying, greediness and slandering.

bri, Your question and thesis are both very good, your thesis answers the question and shows how you plan to write your essay but im not sure if it is argumentative enough, but besides that really good job!

Brianna, you're off to a good start. I think you can get more specific by naming which characters you'll be discussing...Absalon, the Pardoner, etc. Something like: "Chaucer satirizes the corruption in the Church by the hypocrisy of the Pardoner, the lust of Absalon, ...etc."
